Weston Solutions is seeking a motivated entry-level Chemist (0–2 years of experience) with a degree in Chemistry or a related field to join our environmental sciences team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental analytical chemistry, data review, and quality assurance while supporting Department of Defense (DoD), EPA CERCLA, and State-level projects. You will work under the guidance of experienced chemists to learn industry standards, analytical methods, and quality control procedures while contributing to impactful environmental projects.

Expected Outcome: 

Laboratory & Analytical Support

  • Assist in reviewing environmental laboratory data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Learn to apply EPA and non-EPA environmental analytical chemistry methods and QC procedures.
  • Support preparation of Data Validation Reports (DVRs) and Data Usability Assessment Reports under supervision.
  • Gain exposure to PFAS analysis, incremental sampling methodology, and EPA Contract Laboratory methods.

Project Support

  • Contribute to the preparation of Quality Assurance Sampling Plans (QASPs) and Uniform Federal Policy for Quality Assurance Project Plans (UFP-QAPPs) with senior staff guidance.
  • Assist with coordinating laboratory services to meet project timelines and specifications.
  • Support field teams by providing sampling and preservation requirements and reviewing QC sample results.

Quality Assurance & Data Management

  • Learn and apply data validation protocols for multiple analytes and sample media.
  • Assist in entering, organizing, and managing data in various formats, including EDDs (e.g., SEDD, ERPIMS, EnviroData).
  • Gain familiarity with Automated Data Review (ADR) programs (e.g., ADR.NET) and electronic QAPP systems (eQAPPs). 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • B.S. in Chemistry or related scientific field from an accredited program.
  • 0–2 years of related laboratory, environmental, or data management experience (internships and coursework will be considered).
  • Exposure to environmental sampling, laboratory analysis, or data validation preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Desire to learn government and state quality assurance procedures and protocols.

Preferred Skills (Training Provided): 

  • Knowledge of DoD, EPA, and state data quality procedures.
  • Familiarity with PFAS analysis or environmental analytical chemistry.
  • Understanding of remedial process chemistry and chemical fate and transport.
  • Experience with ADR software and/or environmental database formats.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $44,485-$58,323-$72,058
