Lactation Educator - Family Birthing Center at Presbyterian Healthcare Services summary:

The Lactation Educator (RN) provides specialized clinical nursing care and consultation focused on lactation support for mothers and infants within a family birthing center. This role involves interdisciplinary collaboration, patient education, and the development of lactation programs to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes. Requirements include nursing licensure, lactation certification, and emergency life support certifications, contributing to high-quality patient care in a healthcare setting.

Overview:

The Lactation Educator (RN) provides clinical nursing expertise in areas of care practice, consultation, interdisciplinary collaboration and specialty program development for a defined patient population.

Qualifications:

• Minimum ADN preparation with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse Permit required 
• Certified Lactation Counselor or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
• Register with the NM Board of Nursing Lactation Care Providers.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
