Description Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for mission-driven work? Our client, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a difference in the community, is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee their accounting processes and ensure alignment with nonprofit standards. Responsibilities: + Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting. + Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards. + Manage grant reporting, ensuring compliance with donor restrictions and proper fund accounting. + Ensure timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. + Prepare audits, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring proper documentation for compliance. + Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and budgeting while contributing to financial strategy discussions. + Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance. + Collaborate with program and development teams to align financial support with organizational goals. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA is a plus). + 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector. + Solid understanding of nonprofit accounting, including GAAP, fund accounting, and donor reporting. + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel skills. + Strong organizational and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. + Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
