Job Description
Description Lease Accounting:
Maintain and oversee the organization's lease accounting portfolio, ensuring compliance with ASC 842 standards.
Identify and record lease assets and liabilities, and prepare related journal entries.
Monitor and update lease schedules, including lease modifications, renewals, and terminations.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather data and ensure completeness and accuracy of lease-related information.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting principles and regulations.
Assist in the preparation of annual audit schedules and liaise with auditors, particularly regarding lease-related disclosures.
Provide analytical insights on lease impacts to financial statements and budgets.
Compliance and Best Practices:
Stay up to date on regulations governing nonprofit organizations and lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842).
Ensure financial compliance with GAAP and other regulatory frameworks relevant to the nonprofit sector.
General Accounting Duties:
Manage monthly account reconciliations, including lease accounts and other general ledger entries.
Oversee fixed asset accounting and other areas impacted by leases.
Provide support for grant accounting and reporting when necessary.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with operational departments to incorporate lease accounting insights into financial planning.
